Preamble

We've decided that posting photos and thoughts about our daily life is a good way of letting you know how life on Long Island is going and what adventures we are having. We aren't setting sail for the US for over a month, but our house is packed up, and Wayne has finished work at DSE, so it feels like we are on our way. First, however, we are taking a detour via Boolcoomatta, a Bush Heritage conservation property about 100 km west of Broken Hill, where we will be spending most of June. Our primary task as volunteers is to travel around the property on quad bikes with a GPS mapping in the location of rabbit warrens. This will allow Bush Heritage to plan their management of the critters. And give us a fantastic opportunity to explore 65,000 hectares of Australia's arid country, getting our fill of the 'desert' before heading off to a more maritime clime.
